Governance System Reviews

Governance System Reviews

There has been considerable case law and legislative change in the statutory role of directors in recent years and more particularly within the last year. This, coupled with the expansion of corporate governance responsibilities, has resulted in many Directors not being fully aware of their role and their potential exposure. Often the Board/committees fail to address those critical legal and corporate governance functions that are required of Club Boards & Directors today.

Due to the increasing pressure being exerted on the Club Industry through competition, gaming taxes & smoking bans, Directors need to ensure that they are meticulous in covering all their legal, corporate governance and statutory duties.

With this in mind we have assisted clubs in the past in undertaking reviews of governance systems to ensure clubs are complying with the specific requirements of the numerous statutes applicable.  We also ensure that recommendations made are easy to follow and we assist with their implementation.
