Community Engagement Programmes
 Community Engagement Programme

Driving Business Performance

The Club industry has for too long made community decisions and contributions with very little commercial or strategic reference.  Community contributions have been largely based on goodwill, historical relationships and to some extent basic brand imperatives of the Club.

While Club contributions have been significant and the benefits have been far reaching for the community (for instance the recent IPART Inquiry into the New South Wales Club Industry found that the industry provided significant community contributions teach year approximating a value of $900 million) these contributions/efforts have not achieved significant if any reasonable level of recognition.

This lack of recognition by the community, the lack of information provided to regulators by venues and the press afforded to and the activities of the anti-gaming lobby provides significant exposure to venues and the industry as a whole.

Importantly our research highlights 80-90% that club members do not understand what contributions are made or how much time, money and effort a Club puts into its community support activities.

Effective Community Engagement Programmes are critical to highlight the importance of your Club to the community and government

There is currently an obvious priority for Clubs to align all community and sponsorship programmes so that strategies attract significant;

  • Local community support
  • Local corporate support
  • Local, state and federal government recognition; and
  • Local media

The strategies developed need to focus on being responsible in three key factors:

     1. Social
     2. Economical, and
     3. Environmental
